Hi there.
I'm Phoebe!
In 2020, less than a year after graduating college, the world shut down. I bought a camera.
At first, I was scared of it. I grew up begging my dad to let me borrow his Cannon DSLR (which felt like he was lending me a Maserati at the time), and felt no responsibility to do right by the photos I took. Pure fun, then I would hand the camera back to him.
Now I owned my own camera. My photos felt vulnerable. I was scared to be seen with my camera, scared to see someone or something through the viewfinder. But on I went, bringing it with me everywhere I went, just in case.
My partner is a creative soul, and together we planned shoots, scoped out locations, bought outfits (mostly thanks to her). I took thousands of pictures. I bought a new camera and a big girl lens. Friends entrusted me to shoot their weddings. I hauled my camera through the Alaskan tundra while doing research fieldwork. My carry-on bag on airplanes slowly was taken over by gear.
Now, I am NYC based as I pursue a master's in ecology and environmental biology and Northern Massachusetts based in my off time. Photography is my grounding practice and permeates all aspects of my life. I love making people feel seen and giving them unique, creative, and authentic photos that make them feel on top of the world. I love working with couples and finding ways to visually represent their unique relationship. I love catching athletes in action and showing them what they should be proud for. You name it, I capture it.
Please reach out if you would like to book a session, and I look forward to working with you!
